In a world filled with societal, worldly expectations, and rapid changes, the timeless virtues outlined in Proverbs 31 tells us of a woman after God's own heart. A woman who thinks of others before herself. A woman who doesn't cause her husband harm but actually does good by him. The chapter itself is a guideline for women and teaching us how to be a good wife and it starts off pretty simple. We under no circumstance should have any power or dominion over men. In fact Verse 3 states this very plainly simple and direct.
"Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings."
Many people in particularly women might this read this and get offended. However, you need to ask yourselves why are you getting offended? Why do you want authority over him? Are you saying you know more than God? Do you trust God? If you can't follow God's commands and trust God to know what he's doing and why he set the commands he did then how can you follow your husband? How would you be able to trust him and his leadership? This isn't to hate women it's to correct women. Women have a hard time admitting when they want something their way it rarely has anything to do with what is good for their families it's mostly what is easy and more comfortable for them. Men generally speaking when they make decisions it's what best for everyone. Being a man isn't easy especially with a rebellious wife who solely thinks of herself and her wants.
Men are leaders for a reason. Look at what has happened since more women have come at the mercy of feminism they have destroyed families, lives, reputations, institutions built and maintained by men. Women have abandoned their true femininity for a demonic sisterhood that doesn't care about you but because they are evil and miserable they want you to be evil and miserable too. More women today get married and have kids without the faintest idea of what it is to be a wife and mom. Women have lost their motherly instincts.
Women have also lost their kindness and selflessness and it's a sad and true fact. Being a Christian doesn't mean to sugar coat things and lie by saying you're awesome when you are not. Being a true Christian means to correct you in a loving manner. A loving manner isn't sweet words but truth and honesty. We need to be able to call it spade of spade.
Proverbs 31 paints a portrait of a woman of noble character, one who is strong (truth feminine strength), wise, compassionate, and lending a helping hand. She also loves her family and more importantly she is a woman after God's own heart. Embracing these virtues not only touches individual lives but also glorifies God by being the helpmeet we were meant to be.
Characteristics of a Virtuous Woman
The Proverbs 31 woman is a woman that embodies characteristics that stand the test of time. No matter what year this is and how much the elite want to eradicate the family and anything that is made by God having a family is still something many people want. Then yes, being a traditional Godly woman who follows her God given gender role will stand the test of time. This kind of woman is known for her kindness and her virtue. Her wisdom is a guiding light, shaping her decisions and interactions with grace and discernment.
Compassion flows naturally from her, as she extends a helping hand to the needy and speaks with kindness. Her generous attitude is evident in her work ethic, diligence, and ability to manage her household with efficiency, kindness, and selflessness without hesitation and complaining.
Practical Tips for Daily Embodying Virtuous Traits
Start Your Day with a Prayer : Begin each morning with a prayer and thanking God especially if you have children they will see that and emulate it and the seeds will planted for them to believe in God.
Take Care of Your Family/Take care of yourself : Let's stay away from the secular four hour pampering routine that is becoming more and more popular because only you matter. Take care of yourself means treat your body like a temple. Exercise, eat right, and yes get dressed like your life matters and give God your best. This doesn't have to take endless hours everyday. There is nothing wrong with pampering yourself but it's not something that should be done for hours almost everyday. Make a relationship with God by taking time for him reading His word and mediating on His word. Take care of the family you chose to have. Husbands and children are not props or status symbols. If they are the people you love then show them by taking care of them. Being a spouse and a parent is about duty, responsibility, and sacrifice. Sorry you come last. If this isn't something you can do then perhaps this isn't for you.
Seek Wisdom: Commit to lifelong learning, whether through reading your Bible, mentorship of young women who need guidance now more than ever to uphold virtue and timeless femininity, listening and following your husband.
Serve Others: Serve your family, your Church, and the people around you. Look for opportunities to extend kindness and support to those in need, cultivating a heart of compassion.
