Happy New Year everyone! I hope you’re all well. Let’s get into this first article for Style Me Feminine for 2022.
Many of us love to shop and love clothes, shoes, and accessories. However, there can be moments when we’re shopping and we go overboard and end up with things that don’t fit, we don’t love or don’t look good on us. This article will focus only on the mistakes you should avoid making while clothes shopping. When it comes to having a wardrobe, you’re absolutely content with, make sure you have what you need and what you love.
Mistakes to avoid and tips on how to avoid them:
Not Setting a Budget
Before you go shopping make sure you set a budget for yourself. You don’t want to go over budget or buy items you can’t afford. You also don’t want to shop and spend so much money on items you don’t need. Which leads me to my nest point.
Not Having a Set Plan
When you go shopping for clothes have a plan. Acting on a whim isn’t always the best route to go especially if you’re on a budget and you’re in need of new clothing. You don’t want to spend all your time and money in the wrong stores. Know where you’re going ahead of time or have an idea of the stores you want to buy from and how much you’re willing to spend. You also don’t to shop for the sake of shopping because you’ll end up with items that you’ll discard right away or just won’t use.
Buying Everything in Sight
Once again buy what you love and what you need. However, there is a catch to this, and that is, don’t think you have to buy everything all at once. You don’t need to buy everything all at once, whatever you need will always be there or something better will pop up. You also don’t want to buy everything you love either, process of elimination will work in this situation. One way to go about this is to pick pieces that can be worn in multiple ways and be dressed up or down. Picture yourself in these garments and all the different outfits you can make with them.
Choosing Quantity Over Quality
Just because you’re on a budget or have set a certain budget, that doesn’t mean you should gravitate towards cheaper items. You also shouldn’t constantly focus on fast fashion. That is one of the surest ways to have a wardrobe that you’re not happy with because a lot of the pieces are not of good quality. The cheaper route isn’t always the best route.
Sticking To Only the Sale Sections
When it comes to having a wardrobe that you’re happy and content with, know that it doesn’t have to be massive because you chose quantity over quality. I know we all love a bargain, however, that doesn’t mean you should buy everything on sale. You’ll find yourself buying just to buy because it’s on sale and you’ll end up running out of money. Money that could have gone to an item that you love that is of good quality and that can last years.
Next time you go shopping keep these mistakes in mind and tips on how to avoid and you’ll notice a difference. A difference, not only in your wardrobe but also on your mind set on how to shop mindfully and with a purpose.
