Love Your Quirky Style

Updated: Aug 21, 2023

Everyone has a different style some people like to experiment with multiple styles because they feel multiple styles represents their personality and find a likeness in more than one style. However, I'm aware that many people do like the quirky look but don't always know how to mix quirky with femininity and trendy. I believe that the style someone prefers whether it's sporty, comfort, modest or preppy can be seen as stylish when done right and the correct pieces go together without looking like a costume and being overwhelming.

For instance, many women prefer the quirky look which is totally fine but one thing to note is not to mix head to toe quirky. When you do it can look overwhelmingly loud, a bit crazy and almost costume like which isn't the look you want. Instead think about pairing one quirky out their piece with solid colors and your personality will still shine. For instance, if you have a loud pair of stockings like bright stripes, a color not normally used or big polka a dot instead of adding another loud piece try pairing them with a solid dress or a solid blouse and skirt use colors that go well together. The colors don't have to match but they need to be able to go well together.

A good way to challenge your inner quirkiness with style is by mixing bold colors together in color block outfit. I mentioned colors don't have to match but they just must go well together like bright yellow and royal blue, green and blue, yellow, and purple, fuchsia, and teal and burgundy and navy blue. These colors together may sound a bit out there hard to comprehend they can go together but trust me when you do pair them together you won't look back or regret your decision to these colors together. Picture yourself going through your closet tired of mixing the same pieces together and you stumble upon a piece you never paired before. A yellow blouse and a royal blue skirt or a pair of pants with a pair of nude shoes and the red purse that hardy gets used. This method can be used for all seasons even this upcoming winter season. Like mixing a pink sweater over a white button-down blouse with a royal blue blazer, skirt or pants even pairing pastel colors in the winter also work just make sure you bundle up.

Let's say you have a pair of olive-green stockings, and you want your outfit to be a bit more vibrant ad chic, but you also want to keep the outfit calm and a bit subtle I would recommend colors that go well together. For instance, navy blue, light pink or cognac will go well with an olive-green stocking. If you want to an add print go with a subtle print and keep everything else a bit neutral in terms of makeup, accessories, and shoes. This rule can apply to any garment piece that is seen as more out there and funky.

Bold print dresses are also a good way to challenge your inner quirky gal. It's noticeable enough that it will make a statement and you'll have others complimenting you. Same rule applies which is to keep the rest of the outfit subtle. You're already showing how different and unique you are, but you also want to look presentable, neat, and polished especially at work. If you're working in a very corporate, you can still a pop of your personality with a bold blouse or different color jewelry not loud overwhelming jewelry but office appropriate stand out pieces. Believe it or not every style you want to achieve with any piece is out there it's just a matter of knowing how to pair them together and most importantly having grace and confidence when you wear something. Your confidence, your style and your personality can and will shine through your wardrobe just give it and yourself a chance to shine. Be beautiful, stay encouraged and stay feminine.
