Everyone has a different view on head to toe black me personally when done right I say yes. I personally love head to toe black I don't wear it often however when I do like to add pieces to the outfit, so I won't look so pale and tragic. I can understand why some people are against it especially if you enjoy bright vibrant outfits. However, I do think that head to toe black can be appropriate for any occasion depending on the style. The color black when it comes to fashion is so common and will never go out of style because it's so versatile and any trend will fit around black. Black peacoat, black leather, little black dresses, black high heels, black gloves, and the list goes on. There are a few tips and tricks to make your head-to-toe black outfit go from ordinary to extraordinary.
Red or Vibrant Colored Lipstick
Adding a pop of color lipstick tends to take this head-to-toe black outfit to a whole new look. If you want to wear an entire black outfit but want a pop of color, I think a bright red lipstick will really make a difference and it will suit the most casual occasion to the most formal occasion. Red lipstick along with the color black is a classic staple that will never go out of style because any trend fits smoothly with the color. It's not just a vibrant red lipstick that you can wear to add something to the outfit you can wear any bright colored vibrant lipstick that will add a sense of simple but classic feeling to the outfit. A personal favorite of mine besides red is a bright pink lipstick. If you the sultry and vampy look I'd suggest a deep plum lipstick.
Vintage Hairstyles
Now this may seem a bit out of the ordinary for some but allow me to explain why a vintage hairstyle will add a unique look to a modern one colored outfit. If you like a unique look or a retro look and like to look different from the rest than a vintage hairstyle like victory rolls, rockabilly, bombshell, upright pin curls, curtain bangs or a bouffant updo will do the trick. Picture yourself with a modern silhouette or a retro silhouette add a vintage hairstyle and I guarantee you will look like a knockout, and you will stand out from the crowd. Being unique especially when it comes to style is a beautiful thing and you should never hide or be ashamed.
Statement Jewelry
If you really want to add flare and something bold to your outfit statement jewelry will always give you the extra flare you need. Statement jewelry can and will dress up any casual outfit. It can even dress up a casual top with jeans. Imagine wearing a casual black V-neck t-shirt with black jeans add a statement necklace but also add a pop of lipstick and a vintage hairstyle your outfit will go from simple and casual to chic, edgy (depending on the pieces you add) but with a retro twist.
Shoes
They say, "shoes make the out" and whoever started that saying was so right. I can't stress enough how your choice in shoes can make or break an otherwise feminine look. When pairing items to go together keep in mind not everything you chose to wear must match but it does have to go and flow well together. For instance, it's not always popular to mix black and brown because can look kind of a boring but let's say your whole outfit is black and think you can pull of brown heels, I would suggest a different shade like a cognac shade or a print style shoe. One of my favorites is the leopard print shoe that won't make the outfit look so boring. However, if you are going for the head to toe black even black shoes you can't go wrong with black heels. Black heels of any style will work, the heels can come with a bow, studs, peep toes, suede, leather, and the list goes on. No matter what your style is you can always look your best and that's the beauty of fashion.
