Finding Your Personal Style Is Easier Than You Think

Updated: Aug 21, 2023

The beauty about fashion is that every style out there has their own unique qualities that can make your personality shine and stand out. Even those who say they have no style most likely have a sense of how they want to dress but don’t always know where to start. I feel as though it is imperative to show people that not everyone has to dress the same but also know that your personal sense of style can be chic, glamorous, creative, and even professional provided that the right pieces are paired together.

When it comes to style find one that goes together with your personality that is one of the easiest ways to find what style suits you best. Believe it or not even if you don’t feel you have style you do. Maybe just being comfortable is your style; well, what if I told you that you can be comfortable without looking frumpy and like you’ve given up on life. For example, a simple solid blazer, bold printed blouse, jeans, and solid-colored flats and put together with confidence will go a long way.

Before you go shopping clean out your closet go through it and give away what you don’t need and keep what you’ll think can be used in your new collection. You’ll be surprised that you can shop in your closet before you shop in the stores and pick which items go well with each other and make new outfits that you never thought would go together before. One thing to note when you’re picking outfits not everything has to match but it does have to pair well together. For instance, if you want to pair two different prints together do so but be subtle about it; a black and white stripped dress can pair well with a thin leopard print belt.

After cleaning out your closet and realizing you might need more pieces go shopping. However, be true to yourself and to your budget because your wardrobe does not have to consist of labels that are way too expensive. It is possible to look expensive on a budget. I would suggest going to stores with good quality but are also known for having great sales. You can build a wardrobe that is based off on clothes that were mostly on sale. Stores such as White House Black Market, New York and Company, Old Navy, and even online outlets such as Venus.

Never be afraid to ask for help from someone you feel like can help you with fashion. In life we always need help and while we may be good in many areas but there are some areas in our life that we need help with and seeking your own personal style is no exception. You don’t need to hire a personal stylist if you don’t want to be but try asking a friend who loves style and femininity or ask someone in retail, they are always willing to help. Ask what items or garments go well together and how can certain items that look simple stand out and look glamorous. Try asking those around you for tricks and tips and what works for them. Any style you choose I’m sure it will be great and not only stand out, but you will own it and feel confident and ready to tackle on any obstacle that comes your way.
