We all like to travel and go out of our comfort zone to new places and explore. However, sometimes traveling can be expensive and we don't always want to carry around so much luggage even if we're traveling for an extended period. At first it may be difficult to think about making multiple outfits from a carry on, but it is possible and possible to make great outfits out of just a handful of items from your carry-on travel bag.
Before you go travel and you know where you're going my first suggestion would be to check the weather. Checking the weather beforehand will save you a lot of trouble you won't have to bring unnecessary items, you won't overpack, under pack, and you won't need to go to an extra (emergency) shopping trip once you've arrived at your destination.
There are some things to keep in mind when you want to create multiple outfits from a carry-on travel bag.
Weather appropriate clothes/shoes
Neutral color clothes/shoes
Don't focus on the outfits having to match because they don't have to match, they just must go well together
Don't forget to use the clothes you're wearing at the time of travel again during trip
Bring clothes that layer easily
Fold your clothes neatly and pack them neatly so everything including your toiletries can fit into the carry-on case
Think about the activities you'll be taking part and where you're going so you can know what kind of clothes to pack
Let's say your carry on includes 4 pairs of pants, 3 shoes, 5 blouses, 2 dresses, 2 skirts and 3 cardigans. You can have 2 weeks of outfits maybe even 3 just from the items I listed and that's not counting the clothes you'll have on now of travel. To help you figure out how you want to style your clothes in more than one way, mix and match the outfits ahead of time. What I mean by that is, right before you start packing for your trip lay the clothes you have in mind to where on your trip onto your bed with the accessories as well. Pair your outfits together and take pictures of them and keep those pictures for your trip. By doing this you'll be able to save time because your outfits will already be picked out ahead of time.
After you have checked the weather make sure to pack weather appropriate clothing and accessories. Also keep in mind that you can use your own body as extra luggage. Don't just count the clothes you'll have in your suitcase but also count the clothes you'll be wearing on your day of travel which can also count for more outfits throughout your stay. If you plan on wearing a hat, heavy coat, or heavy shoes wear them on the day of travel that way you'll save space in your carry on. If you plan on wearing a regular beanie hat or beret you can pack that in the carry on. However, if you plan on wearing a floppy hat don't pack that in the carry on because that will ruin the hat. Make sure to wear it on the day you're traveling, and you'll also look very chic.
When thinking about clothes to pack try to focus on clothes that you clan layer and clothes that will go well together when paired with anything. One way to do this is by keeping the colors in mind. Neutral tones will most likely be the easiest to pair together and maybe add a pop of color or print that will go with well anything you've packed. If you'd like to change things up a bit pack accessories that will change the look of the outfit maybe even take them from day to night in an instant. Make sure to always include a night out outfit weather that is a dress that can be worn day to night or a skirt, blouse, cardigan, and accessories that will be perfect for any night outing. Have fun and safe travels.
